Services & Pricing

Plain prices, in the open. Every check we run, in plain English — and our recommendation is to run them all. But the choice is always yours: it is your book.

A standard manuscript page is 250 words. Every manuscript begins with the Gate Scan and the content certification.

Getting Started

ServicePriceWhat it is
Gate Scan — content-integrity check, required first $50 deposit Credited in full toward your next service when your book passes. Kept only if the scan refuses the book, which is then returned untouched.

Editing Services

ServicePriceMinimumWhat you get
Scan Only $1 per page $100 The full editorial battery report on your manuscript. We fix nothing — every finding is yours to act on.
Rescan $0.50 per page $50 Fixed it yourself after a Scan Only report? The full battery runs again on the same book — Gate re-check included — and you receive a fresh report. Same book only; if the rescan finds items you want us to fix, the standard upgrade math applies from there.
Scan + Obvious Fixes $2 per page $100 The full battery report, plus we make every obvious correction — misspellings, punctuation, plain mechanical errors. Judgment calls are reported for your decision.
Full Service $4 per page $100 The full scan plus complete corrections and editing. Judgment calls are still yours to decide.

For academic work, we offer Scan + Obvious Fixes and the report only — we point, and you revise, so your paper stays entirely yours.

From Paper to Publisher

ServicePriceNotes
Digitization — handwritten / paper-only manuscripts $2 per handwritten page $50 minimum, paid up front. Scan + faithful typing; the digital file is yours to keep. Anything we cannot read is marked [illegible] — never guessed. Words you supply for the flagged spots, and fixes of our own typing errors, are inserted free within 60 days.
Cover Art Development $150 flat Developed to your specifications — from your own drawings or photographs, or created from your description. Ten free edit rounds included; extra edits $10 each. You confirm you hold the rights to any artwork or photograph you supply.
Publisher-Ready Preparation $100 flat Your finished manuscript and cover prepared to send to your publisher, including KDP — so your book can leave here ready for Amazon.

Why would we send you anywhere else for any of it, if we can do it well and keep the whole path under one roof?

What the Battery Checks

The full battery runs 179 checks — ten times the standard copyediting checklist — organized into plain-English families:

Prose & Editing

Spelling and typos, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, style consistency, read-aloud smoothness, and the mechanical thousand-and-one things a careful eye owes a page.

Story Craft

Character arcs, conflict and stakes, theme, scene structure, transitions, endings, foreshadowing and payoff, humor and tone.

Consistency & Continuity

Name spellings, age timelines, family trees, repetition and echo sweeps, timeline audits, and series continuity from book to book.

Accuracy & Research

Historical clarity, currency and prices true to the period, daily life, weather and seasons, medical and historical accuracy, name-collision checks.

Faith

Scripture accuracy, theological consistency, prayer authenticity, pastoral sensitivity, and Bible study questions that hold up under a careful reader.

Legal Shield & Production

Defamation, privacy, copyright and permissions checks; cover copy, ISBN and metadata match, references and citations, and publishing preparation.

Included in every scan report — AI Sound-Alike Findings. We flag any passages that sound enough like AI writing that a reader or a detection tool might trip on them, and we show you why they read that way — generic phrasing, mechanical rhythm, filler — so you can revise in your own voice before anyone else judges the passage. It is a friendly heads-up, never an accusation, and never a promised detector score: detection tools are unreliable, our report says so plainly, and any figure we give is an estimate, not a verdict.

Two further checks run only when a client asks for them, never by default — one reads for bias in language, the other for religious content. Ask, and we will walk you through either.

Our First Author — and Our Standing Thank-You

The first completed manuscript that passes our Gate receives its Scan + Obvious Fixes and complete written report free, with 25% off any further services afterward.

Refer another author, earn 10%. When someone you refer completes and pays for a job, you receive a thank-you credit of 10% of that job’s price on your own Honest Edit account — for example, a $500 job earns the referrer a $50 credit. The credit posts when the referred job is paid, one credit per referred client (their first job), and it applies to your own future services. It is a credit, never cash — our thanks stay inside the family.

Read Our Work

Our sample page carries two complete, real reports: the stress test on Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Sample No. 1, $888 as if billed) and the first formal run, on our own editor’s novel Maeve, the Commanding Queen (Sample No. 2, $590 as if billed, price math in the open). A client’s report is never posted — only public-domain classics and our own books stand on that page.
